Sarissa follows in the footsteps of Cindarella IV with a carbon composite hull built by Green Marine, a fit out by Vitters Shipyard and an interior designed by Rhoades Young. The emphasis of weight control has been pushed even further with the use of Nomex core for the structure and simpler, lighter systems. -- all in view of a busier racing schedule. Composite rigging, lifting keel and lightweight construction are all part of the now classic set up enjoyed by the vast majority of our cruising boat designs.
The layout and deck plan show a strong emphasis on a clean and modern look on deck and a family friendly layout below deck. This boat is designed for adventure; spear fishing in the Pacific, racing to Hobart, exploring remote parts of the world. To this end, the aft cockpit can be transformed into a swimming pool for the kids while sharks troll the surrounding waters. The main sheet has been placed on an arch spanning the cockpit to keep the deck clear. The coamings sweep gracefully around the superstructure giving a visual accent as well as good protection from the environment.
Below decks the sweeping theme is reflected in the layout with curved corridors emanating from the main salon and leading to circular foyers. The aft accommodation will host one owner’s suite, one guest suite, a children’s cabin connecting to a nanny’s quarter. Forward of the main salon a flight of stairs leads to the lower salon, a private office / guest cabin as well as a formal dining room. To add spectacle to the culinary arts a wall of the dining room can be removed to merge the space with the galley. The foreship will be home to six crew sharing three cabins en suite in a professional and spacious surrounds.
